Situation
A hyperscaler’s 100+ person product team had deep expertise across its tenured workforce, but much of that knowledge remained within individual teams. As AI rapidly changed customer expectations, a new leadership team wanted to make innovation part of the team’s culture by tapping specialized talent across the organization and encouraging greater cross-functional collaboration.
The Chief of Staff envisioned dynamic, cross-functional teams but needed a practical way to turn that vision into programs people could actually participate in.

Leadership entered the new fiscal year aligned and ready to execute, with four new programs designed to make innovation and cross-functional collaboration part of how the team worked:

- Facilitated a series of working sessions to prioritize opportunities, develop concepts, and stress-test potential solutions.
- Turned the strongest ideas into practical implementation plans with clear leadership ownership.
Results

- Sprint Internship: Enables employees to temporarily contribute their expertise to projects on other teams, while gaining exposure to new roles and leaders.
- Rally to Correct: Brings cross-functional teams together to rapidly address underperforming business metrics.
- Shared Scorecard: Gives leaders a common set of data to support decisions across team boundaries.
- Monthly Roadmap Alignment: Creates a regular rhythm for sharing product roadmaps and priorities across the organization.
